Mrs. Leona Hayden: Ex-principal at Rock Glen school dies

Mrs. Leona Hayden, 532 Clinton Court, died Sunday at 3 a.m. at the Allentown Sacred Heart Hospital Center.

She was born the daughter of the late Ralph and Lucy (Zambotti) Genetti. She was a graduate of Roack Glen High School and had a masters degree from East Stroudsburg State Teachers College. Prior to her retirement 10 years ago, she had been principal at the Rock Glen School and a teacher in special education at the Arthur Street School.

She was a member of the Holy Trinity R.C. Church, N. Laurel St. and the Christian Mothers Society.

Preceding her in death were her husband Casper in 1966, and two sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Smith and Mrs. Anna Nenstiel.

Surviving are three daughters: Mrs. Richard (Suzanne) Portland, Guadalajara, Mexico; Mrs. James (Rose Mary) Handley, Yardley; Mrs. Lawrence (Kathleen) Conahan, Easton; seven grandchildren and the following brothers and sister: Silvio Genetti, Drums; Albert Genetti, Drums; and Mrs. Mary Hudock, Garfield, N.J.

Several nieces and nephews also survive.

The funeral will be held Wednesday at 9 a.m. from the Frank J. Bonin Funeral Home, Inc., Second Street entrance. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow in the Holy Trinity R.C. Church, N. Laurel Street, at 9:30 a.m.

Interment will be in the Calvary Cemetery, Drums.
