Vernon C. Genetti, 81, of Fairmont City, Ill., born April 5, 1918, in Collinsville, Ill., died Saturday May 15, 1999, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital, St. Louis, Mo.
Mr. Genetti retired in 1980 from General Motors, St. Louis, Mo., where he worked in the Corvette division. He was a World War II Army veteran who served in the European Theatre.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Vigilio and Margaret, nee Mueller, Genetti; five half-brothers, Charles, John and Willie Genetti, and Fred and George Kittstein; and a half-sister, Catherine Petroski.
Surviving are his wife, Geraldine “Geri,” nee Fernandez, Genetti, whom he married June 27, 1942; two daughters, Genelle M. Campbell of Corona, Calif., and Sharon (Michael) Albertina of Collinsville, Ill., a son, Thomas (Nancy) Genetti of St. Louis, Mo.; two sisters, Margaret Delaney and Amelia Forneris, both of Collinsville, Ill.; five grandsons, Bradley Albertina and Gregory Albertina, both of Collinsville, Ill., and Dominic Genetti, Michael Genetti and Nicholas Genetti, all of St. Louis, Mo.; a granddaughter, Geneen Campbell of Corona, Calif.; sisters-in-law; brothers-in-law; and many nieces and nephews.
