Catherine Farkus, 83, formerly of the Hazleton area, died Friday evening at the Reading Hospital and Medical Center. She had been a guest at the Berkshire Center, Reading.
Born in Hazleton, she was the daughter of the late Leon and Angeline (Marchetti) Genetti, and a graduate of Hazleton High School and Drexel University.
She was a member of Sacred Heart Church, Wyomissing.
Prior to retiring, she was employed a number of years ago by D. Genetti & Sons Inc.
Preceding her in death, in addition to her parents, were her husband, Stephen G. Farkus; and brothers and sisters, Joyce Genetti, Adeline Kashi, John and Joseph, and Rita Young.
Surviving are her daughter, Mrs. Richard (Sandra) Eshelman, Reading; a brother, Leon, Calbeth Place; one grandson, one great-grandchild and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be held Monday at 10:30 a.m. from the Frank J. Bonin Funeral Home Inc., 542 N. Wyoming St., Hazleton. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. in St. Francis of Assisi Roman Catholic Church.
