John Terry “Bones” Allan

(January 22, 1943 – December 11, 2024)

John Terry “Bones” Allan, 81, of Collinsville, IL born on January 22, 1943 in East Saint Louis, IL passed away on December 11, 2024 in his home surrounded by his family and friends. He graduated from Collinsville High School in 1961. He married the love of his life Mary Therese Frauenfelder in 1967 and had 3 loving children. Terry loved dancing with his Bride for the past 57 years, spending quality time with family & friends and always being with Little Bones (Bucca) who was the joy of his life. Terry had a vivacious love for life and his community. His true passion and dedication were helping those in need.

Terry worked at Viviano’s grocery store and surrounding stores as a meat cutter for Local 88 and Local 534 from 1968 to 1975. He was a car salesman for Bo Beuckman Ford, Elmer Molitor and Jack Schmitt Ford from 1975 through 1988. Terry was elected Collinsville Township Clerk in 1977 for 4 years and was Collinsville Township Supervisor for 39 years from 1981 through March 2020.

During the snow blizzard of 1982, Terry attended Missouri Auction School in Kansas City, MO to become an Auctioneer. Terry and Mary were the owners of Allan Auction Service for 38 years from 1982 to 2020 with the children, grandchildren and many special family and friends helping at each sale. He generously volunteered his time to help many organizations in the Collinsville, Maryville and other Metro East areas.

In addition to Auctioneering, Terry loved to fish. He was known for his infamous BBQ and grill master skills. He enjoyed hosting family and friends at their home. During the holidays, Terry brought joy and smiles to hundreds of children and the elderly when he visited them as Santa.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Constance (Genetti) Allan; his in-laws, Harry and Eileen (Berkley) Frauenfelder; brother, William Allan; 3 brothers-in-law, Warren Billhartz, John Frauenfelder, Robert Modlin; and sister-in-law, Janice Frauenfelder.

He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Mary Therese (Frauenfelder) Allan; a daughter Teri (Mike) Picchioldi of Edwardsville, IL, a daughter Jeana (Jim) Heyden of Maryville, IL, a son Luke (Beth) Allan of Troy, IL; 8 grandchildren, Joel (Yenny) Blaies, Lauren (Anthony) Randazzo, Nicole Picchioldi, Kailey (Ryan) Onesky, Megan (Tyler) Auten, Luke (Samantha) Allan, Paige Allan, Danica Allan; 5 great grandchildren, Amelie Blaies, Zoe Blaies, Blaine Randazzo, Raife Randazzo, Blake Randazzo and Baby Auten due in June 2025; 2 brothers, Thomas (Billie) Allan and Edward (Annette) Allan; 2 sisters, Marybeth Allan and Marcia Billhartz; a sister-in-law, Sally Allan; 2 brothers-in-law, Harry Joe Frauenfelder, Ron Frauenfelder (Laurel); many dear cousins, nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews; great-great nieces and nephews; cherished friends, Collinsville Township family, and our Auction family.

Above all else, Terry cherished his wife Mary, children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, siblings, and family. The family is truly proud of the amazing legacy he has left behind and will live in their hearts forever. He will truly be missed.

Webmaster Note: John Terry Allan was the son of Elmer Allan and Constance Genetti. He is the great-grandson of Constantino (August) Isidoro Francesco Genetti and Rosina Wahl. Constantino was likely the first member of the Genetti family to immigrate to the United States in 1873. He settled in Madison County, Illinois. Today there are many descendants of Constantino (who went by August) and his wife Rosina.
