Funeral services for Pete Genetti, 88, of 611 Second St., Rock Springs [Wyoming], were conducted Thursday at 10 a.m. at the Rogan Mortuary Chapel, the Rev. Charles Bartek officiating. Burial was in the St. Joseph’s section of Rock Springs Municipal Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Victor Menghini, Otto Canestrini, Guerino Rizzi, Leno Lemghini, Frank Franch and Emil Bertagnolli.
Honorary pallbearers were Joe Bertagnolli, Herman and Angelo Menghini, Adolph Floretta, Joe Cologna and Bill Marandi.
Mr. Genetti died Sunday, May 23 [1971], at Sweetwater County Memorial Hospital, a few hours after he was admitted, following a brief illness.
Born in Castelfondo, Tyrol, Austria, October 18, 1882, he came to Rock Springs in 1900 to work in the mines. He went to Superior in 1909.
He married Elvira Cologna in Rock Springs in 1912. She preceded him in death January 29, 1938. He later married Alceste Zueck in Brez, Italy in 1939.
While a resident of Superior from 1909 to 1942, he was associated with several businesses and served as a member of the Superior City Council for 16 years.
He had been a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie No. 151, Rock Springs since 1911 and also was a member of the American Fraternal Union Lodge of Rock Springs.
Surviving are his wife, Alceste; two sons, Leno of Rock Springs and Paul of Casper; one brother, Louis Genetti of Rock Springs; two nieces, Mrs. Ole Anselmi of Rock Springs and Mrs. Clyde Coletti of San Mateo, California, and one grandson.
In addition to his first wife, he was preceded in death by a son, Bruno – April 2, 1942, while serving in the military in World War II.
