So sorry to hear about Eddie’s passing. Spent quite a bit of time with him and Richard in our youth. His first wife Rosemary was a very good friend of mine. My condolences to his family.
Thank you to Anne Marie Shelby for sending me this news. According to the Standard Speaker (Hazleton newspaper), Ed passed away in Florida, but will have a funeral in Hazleton (date to be announced).
Thanks for the info Louise. Appreciated. So sad to see cousins passing. Memories become so cherished. Brings to mind…cherish every day. We never know when we will be called home. Our condolnces to all family members.
To Tim , Allen and the rest . My condolences.
Ed Genetti , A WW11 history buff , and The only person I Know
Who owned a Ferrari Dino. He was a man of his word. A class act.
Although my father never had the privalige of meeting Ed , he did meet the grandfather at Valley
Country Club. An affable person sat down and asked my father if he was in the grocery business as well.
My dad Said , No I’m in the doctor business. Long story short , Just like his father, Ed is gone but not forgotten.
Hi Eric,
Thank you for leaving a memory of Ed. I have a feeling the person your dad met at the Valley Country Club was Ed’s father, Stanley Genetti. Stanley was my grandfather’s brother (all four of the Genetti brothers started out in the grocery business). Ed’s grandfather (and my great-grandfather) was Damiano Genetti, who founded the original grocery business in Hazleton. But in 1922 Damiano sold the business to his sons and moved back to the Tyrol. He came back for visits during the next 15 years until war broke out in Europe. Damiano died in 1944 in his beloved village of Castelfondo, without returned to the states.
You are correct. I should have mentioned that. Allen and I used the same adoption agency . My wife traveled with Allen to China.
