I just came across this clip on YouTube and thought you would love to see it!
Pennsylvania – Trentini Americani: https://youtu.be/2QtOmuEYU5U
Look closely and you’ll see one of our Genetti cousins! If you’re from Hazleton, you may be related to several people in this little video.

Thanks for posting the clip, I loved watching it. Many memories of stories came flooding back to me as told by my grandparents Dominic and Maria Niederjaufer Genetti.
Thanks Linda. It sparked many memories for me too! I was quite surprised to stumble upon it. Glad you enjoyed it.
Your timing is ironic, Louise! I came across the same YouTube video two days ago.
Best regards,

Friday Morning Good Morning, Louise, Thank you so much for sending the link. It brought back so many memories. As you probably know, my parents had a Tavern in Weston, Pa. My father had worked in the mines for 25 years, (starting at age 12 as a ‘Breaker Boy’) before he started the business which he and my mother ran. I can remember when the men came in from the ‘grave yard’ shift from the mines. They would have their ‘Tyrolean highball’ to get the coal dust out of their lungs. (Coffee with a shot of whiskey). Even though they had been to the wash room, coal dust around the eyes, fingernails, crevices couldn’t be washed out. My father died at age 63 from cancer of the lung. They had done surgery on him, and even though he had been out of the mines for 25 years, the coal dust was still there. When I think of how hard they worked and under what conditions, I cry. I will be sending the link to every one in my family. I appreciate all the work you do. Hope all is well with you. Love, Helene
Thank you Helene for sharing your precious memories with our readers. Glad you enjoyed the video. I was completely surprised to see Bill being interviewed!
